Easter Décor for the Garden

The Easter season holds a different significance to different people. Some look forward to the holiday because of the religious importance attached to it while others are eager for some free time to spend with family and friends. To others, this season heralds newness with the dawning of spring and it also most popular for weddings with many couples choosing this time to start their marriage and new life together. It is a season characterized with celebration with homes decked in signature Easter décor that is cheerful, heightening the celebratory mood. The inside of the house including the dinner table are given the most attention, however, the yard or garden can be done colourfully to depict the season

The front door is probably the first thing that guests to the home will see on arrival and hanging a themed wreath on it is a cheerful welcome. For a wedding theme, the wreath can be incorporated in the archway for more pomp. These can be bought ready made which is handy for one short of time to create one at home. However, with a little creativity a personalized Easter wreath can be made at home using several items that are reminiscent of the season. Ready made Easter eggs or even hand-painted ones are a great addition to a front door wreath. Eggs signify newness of life and a blessing when incorporated in the décor as a couple gets married in this season. Beautiful and colourful ribbons will give the wreath a cheerful look that is great welcome to the home. Alternatively, an Easter tree can be used in place of a garland or wreath. This is made up of branches, with colourful Easter eggs hanging from it. Bows and ribbons add pomp and colour to this striking décor item.

When the weather is good and bright with no rain in sight, some Easter bunnies can be placed in the garden to heighten the mood of the season as well as excite children. An Easter egg hunt is a great game to play in the garden in such lovely weather. Colourful signs and banners placed on trees in the garden or on the fence will indicate clues to the game. If the weather is not all that cheery, then a pair of Easter bunnies placed on the porch brightens up the holiday mood. This type of décor is especially significant for a newly married couple to herald fruitfulness.

Any celebration is never complete without sharing a meal. The garden is a lovely place to set up a picnic table for the Easter meal. This should be draped in linen with Easter depictions such as bunnies or eggs. If this is not available a plain white table cloth is ideal with a bunny and eggs basket centrepiece. Hand-painted eggs in bright colours in a gorgeous basket incorporating an Easter bunny in the middle makes for a most striking centrepiece. This is a most unique décor item for a marriage reception table during Easter.
